My name is Jamie Greening — husband to Mrs. Greenbean and father to two wonderful sprouts, both of whom are grown and finding her place in the world.
I am a Baptist pastor in the Texas Hill Country, and for many years I pastored in the Pacific Northwest. I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a master of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctor of ministry from Beeson Divinity.
I also write stories, specifically the Pastor Butch Gregory novels–which range from thriller, to police procedural, conspiracy, and the most recent: speculative fiction. I’m now working on new projects including what I call a ‘retro sci-fi’ novel about monsters, a free-writing based on John’s Gospel, short stories with the Fondue Writer’s Club, and a soon to be finished murder/revenge novel I’m working with two friends on.
As if that wasn’t enough, I also blog as Pastor Greenbean on culture, movies, books, food, politics, and whatever else I am thinking about at the moment.
I do not consider myself the authority on anything–except buttermilk biscuits and the proper ripening of bananas and how to use them in a banana pudding.
